Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ziya KOÇ was born in Malatya in 1977. He graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Law in 1998. He completed his master's degree in 2003 at Marmara University Institute of Social Sciences with his thesis titled "Credit Card Crimes". He completed his PhD at Selçuk University Institute of Social Sciences with his thesis titled "Victim Participationin Criminal Procedure". He was entitled the title of "Associate Professor" by the Interuniversity Board in 2022. He has presented numerousbooks, articles and symposium papers in the field of Criminal and Criminal Procedure Law. He served as a judge in various cities of Turkey for many years. He also served as the President of the High Criminal Court and the President of the Criminal Department of the Regional Court of Justice. He currently servesas a faculty member at Çağ University Faculty of Law. He also serves as amember of the Professional Football Disciplinary Committee at the Turkish Football Federation.
